Pharmacy Advocacy, Deep in the Heart of Texas

Welcome to the Capital Area Pharmacy Association Website. If you need to find out more information about CAPA you have come to the right place. We are a small group of pharmacy related individuals including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students, and others who advocate for the profession and the practice of pharmacy in the central Texas area.

As a local chapter association of the Texas Pharmacy Association (TPA) we look to each other for support in maintaining our abilities health care practitioners serving our local central Texas communities.

We volunteer ourselves and our time to help those in need at the Volunteer Health Clinic (VHC) in central Austin.

So if you are interested in joining or attending one of our meetings, please do not hesitate to contact us. We typically meet once a month over dinner and a pharmacy related discussion or continuing education course at locations all over Austin.

Next CAPA Meeting (update: 10JUL2010)

There will not be a CAPA meeting this July as we are going to TPA’s annual meeting being held in Austin Texas. We look forward to seeing all of our members and members from the other locals at the conference. Remember you can always sign up for a day or two at the conference. Have a great conference everyone.

Keep in mind that we are the host local association for the 2010 TPA convention this summer. The earlier you register the lower the price, so visit the TPA website for more information.

You can see other pharmacies are following suit. Look at this report from California: Start spreading the word, disposing of expired and unused medications improves safety of the environment and us as consumers of drinking water. Thank to TPA for providing the link.
