Pharmacy Advocacy, Deep in the Heart of Texas

Welcome to the new Capital Area Pharmacy Association Website. If you need to find out more information about CAPA you have come to the right place. We are a small group of pharmacy related individuals including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, pharmacy students, and others who advocate for the profession and the practice of pharmacy in the central Texas area.

As a local chapter association of the Texas Pharmacy Association (TPA) we look to each other for support in maintaining our abilities health care practitioners serving our local central Texas communities.

We volunteer ourselves and our time to help those in need at the Volunteer Health Clinic (VHC) in central Austin.

So if you are interested in joining or attending one of our meetings, please do not hesitate to contact us. We typically meet once a month over dinner and a pharmacy related discussion or continuing education course at locations all over Austin.

Next CAPA Meeting (2009-12-03)

Our next CAPA meeting will be held on December 3rd at Canoli Joe’s on 290 E in South Austin. This is our joint event with AASHP, so make sure to RSVP with the eVite early as the seats will fill up fast. If you are interested in earning CE credit for this event you will be able to do so. There will be a nominal fee and we will have more specifics via the eVite or CAPA Blog.

CAPA is the sponsor of this event. Your dues and contributions are helping us to fund this event.

Please do not forget to RSVP if you are interested in coming.

Another reminder, It is time for membership renewals. Please consider joining through TPA as our parent organization advocates for our profession across this great state.

Next CAPA meeting this Thursday (12/3)
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the next CAPA meeting this Thursday at Cannoli Joe’s in South Austin. We will be listening to an update to Texas Law from our very own CAPA member Gay Dodson, the Executive Director of the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
