March 4th Meeting Minutes
The officers of CAPA have decided to publish our meeting minutes so that all CAPA members can view what it is we discuss. It is also a good opportunity for any members to ask questions via the blog. You can always respond using the comment tool below. Once it is posted we will ensure a response int eh comments ourselves or bring it up at the next meeting. April CAPA meeting
Our next meeting will be held at the Iron Cactus Downtown on April 1st starting at 6:30 PM. Please make sure you RSVP to the e-Vite in order to confirm your attendance. We will be placed in the Cactus Room at the Iron Cactus downtown. The sponsor for the event is Santarus, Inc. represented by Angela Jones and Astra Sparks. Everyone please make sure to thank our sponsors for this CAPA event.In addition to our talk on Zegerid-Immediate Release Oral PPI, Alleviate the Burden of GERD and Glumetza-Address the Limits of Metformin, we will also be joined by one of the candidates running for TPA president. She also happens to be a current CAPA member. Dorinda Martin will be introducing herself to many of our members for the first time and renewing her friendships with our consistent members. She will discuss her run for the TPA presidency for 2010 election. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there! If you have any questions for Dorinda, please comment them down below and we can make sure she addresses them during her discussion.

We celebrated the end of a successful year at CAPA and began a new chapter. We thanked Joe Joseph and Alexis Balko for their dedicated service over the past years and we welcomed some new faces to the Board of Directors.

CAPA Social Tomorrow, Scholz’s Garten
We begin our next CAPA year tomorrow night, the 27th of August. Our annual social event will be held at the historical Scholz’s Garten. Follow the link and you can see us mentioned for Thursday night’s calendar. Based on our eVite RSVPs we are booked. However if you are not able to go please change your RSVP status in order to allow others that would like to go.We will be installing all the new officers on Thursday night. We will also have a guest appearance by Joe DaSilva, the newly appointed CEO and Executive Director of the Texas Pharmacy Association. The night will be packed with food and fun. We of course want to thank our outgoing officers for their commitment to the local pharmacy association. We especially want to give a big thanks to Joe Joseph for his time and effort in making sure our meetings are in order and that our vision remains in focus. You can connect with more CAPA members using two major social networking sites found easily on the Internet. In Facebook, we have a group setup called Capital Area Pharmacy Association (CAPA), where you can request to join and one of the officers can add you to the roster. We will be good about posting any events that CAPA might be participating in. It will also be a place where you discuss anything with your fellow CAPA Facebook friends right on the web. Take a look when you have the chance. For those interested in Twitter, please visit twitter. By following us at @capa_austin you will see some quick news posts relevant to the central Texas pharmacy community. Additionally you will receive tweets that talk about updates to our CAPA blog. This will inform you of when to visit our site for the latest updates. These are two new features that we will be really working hard keeping up to date so everyone will find their Preferred method to communicate with the rest of the CAPA membership. The CAPA Blog
Welcome to our CAPA Blog. We have begun our entry into the Web 2.0 space and are ready to find new an innovative way to communicate to our members and guests of the http://capa-austin.org website. Make sure to follow us in over the next several months to see what we are up to at CAPA. We will post relevant pharmacy news, advocacy information, and general administration information for all to be updated. Expect at least one new post each week. As the blog gains more popularity we will hopefully being posting three time per week. Please remember that each post contains a comments ability where all our visitors can leave comments or questions that we can help to answer to. We have implemented SPAM protection so hopefully only real people will be allowed to post, but do not hesitate to contact us if you notice any issues.
